Glasshouse Nov 2008

I worked with Glasshouse about a year ago and I am really pleased to call them a client once more. I have re-designed the general look and aesthetic for the night, which is now at it’s new home The Mezz Club.

EB/Nov2k8

New design for Electronic Bounce in November.

It’s on the wall

My good friend Dave Hanal was out and about this weekend, giving the streets a damn good paint job. Here I am, sitting comfortably alongside my partner in musical crime, DJ VLR himself. Just don’t tell the police please…

Mezz

Mezz is a really fantastic venue, with an incredibly clean and minimal design - the result of a half a million pound project to turn it into the premiere dance music venue in Leeds. I was asked to create promotional material, including this poster. I took the basic Mezz logo and developed it into a paradise-themed design, including elements such as the apple from the garden of eden and vines circling the logo. A range of other material is also in the works.

Recent Work (Part 4)

Funky Beast
This is the Friday night event at Mansion, Huddersfield. Like Digital High, they wanted a humourous, but visually strong identity, which they could carry on to subsequent events. This design is based on the Yeti myth and like Digital High, I put it in a musical context, with the boombox and turntable.. a funky beast! A full range of promotional material was completed, including the usual flyers/posters as well as 3 banners to be used inside the venue.

Recent Work (Part 3)

Electronic Bounce
For this event, I was given free reign over all design elements. I was a big fan of The Ark flyers from the early 90s, which had nice typography and a clean, minimal aesthetic. I wanted to re-capture this, but also give it a more contemporary twist, with strong vibrant colours and lots of white space to work with. I also designed the logo, which is an amalgam of the letters E & B, combined to create the illusion of a butterfly.

Recent Work (Part 2)

Musiq @ Puro
Musiq has been running for over a year now in Leeds and caters for the urban music crowd. They contacted me in August to rebrand their night and give it a slicker and edgier look. Since then, I have provided all artwork for all promotional material, including flyers, posters and banners. I even took the time to create a nice desktop wallpaper for them, which you can download by clicking the thumbnail below.

Recent Work (Part 1)

In an attempt to catch up with all the work i’ve done lately (a lot!), i’ve decided to upload recent work which I am particularly proud of. Most of these were completed in the last 2-3 months and many of them have only just gone to press. This will also give me the opportunity to stress test this new wordpress system! Let us begin…

Digital High
This is a series of flyers and banners for the new Saturday night “Digital High” based at Huddersfield club Mansion. The client wanted a funky, futuristic vibe, but keeping tongue firmly in cheek. I edited the robot toy to include a spray can and boombox, as well as giving it a stencil/cut out style to keep things edgey. This look will be carried over to all future events.
